ENFOQUES DEL TRABAJO CELULAR.

Al impartir en conferencias lo poco que sabemos sobre el trabajo celular, una pregunta que muy a menudo se nos hace es con respecto a la manera como desarrollamos el hacer discípulos dentro de las células. Las personas se sorprenden cuando les respondo que el hacer discípulos lo reservamos para las celebraciones. En tanto que las reuniones en las casas se enfocan en la evangelización.
La razón de ello, obedece a la historia misma de Elim. La iglesia nació con un trabajo tradicional donde su principal componente era, precisamente, su excelente enseñanza para hacer discípulos. Después de nueve años, la iglesia hizo su transición para ser una iglesia celular. Las células se vieron siempre como un instrumento de evangelización y no de hacer discípulos. Los hermanos deseaban compartir lo que aprendían en la iglesia con los amigos invitados.
Desde entonces, las cosas han continuado la misma línea de acción. Los hermanos van a formarse en la celebración. Saben que allí es donde reciben su formación teológica y crecen en madurez. Las células tienen una dedicatoria exclusiva hacia los amigos. Su propósito es la presentación del evangelio.
Desde ese punto de vista, la enseñanza celular se limita a ser una presentación sencilla de Jesús como el salvador. Todo el esfuerzo se enfoca en rescatar las personas perdidas. Creo que el énfasis en el evangelismo dentro de la célula ha permitido configurar una estructura de conquista y salvación. Aprecio y respeto muchísimo a aquellas iglesias celulares que utilizan las reuniones en casas para hacer discípulos a sus miembros. Pero es muy probable que su alcance se vea limitado hablando de la conquista evangelizadora. Se corre el riesgo que la célula se enfoque en sí misma antes que hacerlo en el mundo perdido a su alrededor.

Approaches on cell work.

When speaking at conferences of the little we know on cell work, there is a frequent question we are asked regarding the way how we manage to make disciples within the cells. People are surprised when I answer that we reserve the making of disciples for the celebrations; while the meetings in houses focus on evangelization.
The reason for this is due to Elim’s own history. The church was born with a traditional work where its main component was precisely its excellent teaching to make disciples. After nine years, the church made its transition to a cell church. The cells were always seen as an evangelization instrument and not to make disciples. The brethren wanted to share what they had learned in church with the invited friends.
Since then, things have continued the same course of action. The brethren will be trained in the celebration service. They know that's where they receive their theological formation and were they grow in maturity. The cells are devoted uniquely to friends. Its purpose is the presentation of the Gospel.

From that perspective, the cell teaching is limited to a simple presentation of Jesus as The Savior. All the effort is focused on rescuing the lost. I think the emphasis on evangelism within the cell has allowed us to configure a framework of conquest and salvation. I appreciate and respect very much those cell churches that use the meetings in houses to make of their members disciples. But probably its scope will be limited talking about the evangelistic conquest. There is a risk that the cell will focus on itself rather than in the lost world that surrounds it.

셀 사역에 대해서 컨퍼런스 강연을 할 때, 나는 셀 안에서 제자훈련하는 방법에 대해 자주 질문을 접한다. 엘림 교회는 우선적으로 축제예배에서 제자들을 삼으며, 셀그룹은 전도에 포커스를 맞추고 있다고 이야기하면, 다들 놀란다.

이러한 이유는 엘림만의 역사 때문이다. 교회를 시작할 때부터, 탁월한 가르침 사역을 통해서 제자 삼는 일에 항상 초점을 두고 있었다. 엘림교회가 출반한지 9년이 되는 해에, 교회는 셀교회로 전환하였다. 시작부터, 셀들은 제자 삼는 장소보다는 차라리, 우선적으로 전도 도구로 쓰였다. 형제들은 교회에서 배운 것들을 그들의 친구와 다른 손님들과 함께 나누기를 원했다.

엘림교회는 그 시작 때부터 셀 포커스를 바꾸지 않았다. 신자들은 축제예배에서 훈련을 계속 받았다. 그들은 축제예배 모임에서 강력한 신학적 기초를 제공받고 이를 통해서 성숙의 길로 성장해 나갔다. 다른 한편으로, 친구들과 방문객들에게 헌신하였다. 셀의 목적은 복음 제시다.

이 입장에서 보자면, 셀의 티칭 시간은 구세주 예수님만을 소개하는 것으로 제한된다. 모든 수고들이 잃어버린 자들에게 다가가는 것에 초점을 맞춘다. 셀에서 전도를 강조하는 것은 정복과 구원의 틀을 형성하도록 만든다고 생각한다.

가정 모임들을 사용해서 제자 삼는 일에 동원하는 많은 셀교회들에게 감사 드리고, 존경한다. 하지만 전도적 정복이 없이는, 셀 포커스는 제한될 것이다. 셀이 주변의 잃어버린 자들에게 다가가려고 하기보다는 차라리, 셀 자체가 포커스일 때 위험하다고 생각한다.
