Una pregunta que me hacen
comúnmente es si los líderes de nuestra células infantiles son también niños.
La respuesta es no. La edad mínima para ser un líder de célula infantil es de
16 años. Eso es así debido a las expectativas que tenemos de esos líderes.
Aunque parezca paradójico, el entrenamiento para ser líder de célula infantil
es más extenso que el que usamos para ser líder de una célula de adultos.
Además de aprender los
fundamentos del trabajo celular, el líder de células infantiles también debe
aprender elementos adicionales para trabajar con niños. Entre esos elementos se
encuentran la pedagogía y temas como el maltrato y el abuso infantil.
Buena parte de los líderes de
células infantiles son adultos y, en la actualidad, este es un elemento
importantísimo frente al fenómeno de la pandillas juveniles que vive el país.
El perfil de los niños y jóvenes que ingresan a pandillas normalmente incluye
la desintegración de sus familias. Sintiéndose vacíos de lazos familiares
buscan en la pandilla la pertenencia y el afecto. Las células infantiles salen
al paso de tal situación abriendo los brazos para otorgar a estos niños y
jóvenes la atención y el cariño que necesitan. De esa manera, se realiza un
trabajo de prevención de la violencia.
En la actualidad, atendemos a un
aproximado de 27,000 niños en nuestras células pero la meta es poder llegar a
los 100,000. Eso sería el 10% de la población en la capital y con ello
estaríamos impactando de manera más amplia a la sociedad.

Children cells in the face of youth violence.
One frequent question is if our children cells’
leaders are also children. The answer is no. The minimum age to be a children
cell leader is 16. That is because of the expectations we have from those
leaders. Although it might seem Paradoxical, the training to become a children
cell leader is more extensive than the one we use to become an adult cell
leader.
Besides learning the basics of cell work, the
children cells’ leader must also learn the additional elements to work with
children. Among those elements are the pedagogy and themes like the
mistreatment and child abuse.
Most of the children cells’ leaders are adults
and this is currently a very important element against the phenomenon of the
youth gangs that our country lives. The profile of children and youth that
enter the gangs usually include their families’ disintegration. Feeling the
lack of family ties they seek in the gang the sense of belonging and affection.
Children cells come in the way of such situation opening their arms to grant
these children and youth the attention and affection they need. Thus, a
preventive work against violence is made.
Today, we assist approximately 27,000 children
in our cells but the goal is to reach 100,000. That would be the 10% of the
population in the capital and with that we would be impacting society in a
broader way.

규칙을 정하게 되었다. 역설처럼 들릴지도 모르겠지만, 어린이 셀 리더를 위한 우리의 훈련은 어른 셀 리더 훈련보다 더 광범위하다.
셀 기초를 배우는 것에다가, 어린이 셀 리더를 위한 추가적인 코스를 마련하였다.
다른 사람들을 가르치는 방법, 어린이를 대하는 방법, 아동 폭력 문제 등에 대해서도 가르친다.
대부분의 어린이 셀들은 어른들에 의해서 인도된다. 우리나라에 만연해 있는,
늘어만 가고 있는 청소년 갱 문제와 관련해서 그렇게 하는 것이 핵심이라고 믿는다. 갱에 들어가는 어린이와 청소년들의 공통된 프로파일은, 가족이
해체된 집안 출신이라는 점이다. 그들은 결코 소속감을 알지 못하기 때문에, 그들은 사랑, 인정 받음, 소속감을 위해서 갱으로 들어간다. 어린이를
위한 셀은 청소년과 어린이들에게 그들이 찾고 있는 소속감을 제공해 주고, 이렇게 해서 갱활동에 빠지는 것을 예방하고 있다.
오늘날, 산살바도르의 모교회에서, 우리는 매주 우리의 셀에 약
27,000명의 어린이들이 참석하고 있다. 우리의 목표는 100,000명에게 다가가는 것이다. 이는 수도 인구의 10%가 될 것이다. 이렇게 해서
